India’s Domestic Electronics Manufacturing is on the Rise

According to recent reports, India's electronic manufacturing sector is projected to reach a whopping $250 billion by 2028, which is a huge jump from the $105 billion it was at in FY23. That's a nearly 3 percent increase in GDP, and the government is hoping to push it even further, aiming to hit $300 billion in electronics manufacturing by 2030.
The PLI scheme has been a major driving force behind this expansion, attracting both domestic and international companies to invest in setting up shop in India. The goal is to make the country a major player in the global electronics market, reducing our reliance on imports and boosting the economy in the process.
And it looks like it's working! In April alone, electronic goods exports hit $2.65 billion, which is a 25.80 percent increase compared to April of the previous year, according to Invest India data. That's a pretty big jump, and it shows that more and more companies are seeing the potential in India's booming electronics industry.
The government is also working hard to create a supportive environment for manufacturing, which is why we're seeing so many global electronics giants expressing interest in setting up manufacturing bases here. This is expected to create tons of new job opportunities and contribute significantly to the country's economic development over the next few years.
