Fabrizio Romano Sets Record Straight on Manchester United Links to Karim Adeyemi

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has delivered a clear update that will disappoint many Manchester United fans hoping for a January move for Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi.

The 23-year-old German forward has been repeatedly linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent weeks, with reports claiming United had opened talks with his agent, super-agent Jorge Mendes, and were preparing a formal approach to Dortmund.

Romano's verdict: "My information is that at this moment Manchester United are NOT negotiating with Karim Adeyemi. They have not made any approach on player or club side. Nothing is happening right now."

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist emphasized that while United are actively scouting versatile attacking players who can operate as wingers or in the No.10 role under Ruben Amorim's system, Adeyemi is not currently a concrete target.

"Man United are looking at that kind of profile — fast, technical, able to play in different positions — but at this stage, no negotiations for Karim Adeyemi."

The rumors gained traction due to Adeyemi's reportedly strained relationship with new Dortmund head coach Nuri Şahin and his limited minutes this season. However, Romano's update aligns with growing indications that the player himself is more interested in a potential move to Arsenal, where he is said to be a huge admirer of Mikel Arteta's project.

For Manchester United supporters, this news shifts focus back to other names on the winter shortlist as Amorim looks to inject pace and dynamism into his attacking line.

Stay tuned — the January window is still six weeks away, and as Romano always says… things can change quickly in football.
