Xi Jinping Wants Everyone to Help Get Russia and Ukraine Talking Again

So, Chinese President Xi Jinping is asking everyone to pitch in and help get Russia and Ukraine to sit down and chat. This happened when he met with Hungary's big boss, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, on a Monday, according to what CCTV, the state TV there, said.

Orbán had just come back from a surprise trip to China after hopping around to Russia and Ukraine. He's been trying to figure out how to make everyone get along like good neighbors because Hungary's kind of in charge of the European Union's decisions right now. But, not everyone in Europe is giving him a thumbs up for his solo peace-making trip.

Orbán posted on social media that China's a really important player in getting everyone to stop fighting. He said he met Xi in Beijing because he wanted to talk about peace, just a couple of months after Xi's fancy visit to his place, Budapest.

Orbán is like BFFs with both Xi and Putin, the big cheese in Russia. His visit to Moscow last week had some people in Kyiv and EU offices shaking their heads. They think he's playing solo when he should be playing for the whole EU team.

Xi's idea of everyone backing a chat between the two countries shows that China is all about talking things out instead of throwing punches. And let's be real, if big guys like China get involved, it could make a huge difference in ending the fighting that's been going on for, like, forever.

What happens with Orbán's peace trip and what the other world leaders think about it is kind of a big deal. It shows that even though they're all in the EU together, they've got different ideas on how to handle the drama between Russia and Ukraine.
