Japan Train Dude Gets a Pat on the Back from Cops for Finding Lost Kid
So, this totally cool thing happened in Chiba where this 26-year-old train station worker, Yuji Namiki, totally rocked it and helped find a missing kid. He's like a real-life superhero or something! The cops were all like, "Thanks, buddy," for playing a huge part in keeping the kid safe and sound.
The whole deal started on June 8 when a dad was freaking out because his junior high school son didn't come home. The kid had told his mom he was meeting a friend, but he never showed up. So, obviously, the family called the cops to start looking for him.
The cops checked out the security cams at JR Kamatori Station, and that's where Namiki, who knew what was going on, pointed out that the kid was wearing orange. This little detail ended up being a big deal in spotting the kid later.
Fast forward to the early morning of June 9, and this kid who matches the missing kid's description shows up at the station's ticket gate with no cash. Namiki was like, "Oh, hey, you're that kid everyone's looking for!" So, he goes over and asks if the kid had made it home the night before. The kid says no, and Namiki's like, "Don't worry, man, just chill here, I got you." Then he called the cops.
Turns out, the kid had been shopping online and didn't want to get in trouble with his dad, so he didn't go home. But thanks to Namiki, he's safe and sound with his family now.
Namiki said, "I figured that if kids are out late, talking to them might keep them out of trouble, so it's important to keep an eye on 'em." The big boss at Chiba Minami Police Station, Chief Kunio Kano, was super grateful and said, "You're the man, you kept the kid safe and stopped anything bad from happening. Thanks for the help."
This whole thing just shows that even regular Joes like us can be heroes and help keep our neighborhoods safe. Good job, Namiki!
