Duke Ball: Big Prospect Surges in Ranks, Spills the Beans on 'Dream School'

So, it turns out that the folks at Duke basketball didn't exactly rush to hit up Cameron Williams from St. Mary's Catholic (Ariz.) right when the clock struck for them to start talking to high school juniors on June 15. This up-and-coming center, who's a solid 6-foot-10 and 195 pounds, has been mostly chatting with Arizona, San Diego, and Stanford, according to what he told Pro Insights.

But here's the kicker - even though Duke wasn't first in line, this dude has shot up the ranks like nobody's business. He's been sitting pretty at No. 32 overall as a four-star prospect on 247Sports for a couple of weeks now. And get this, just a few weeks ago, he wasn't even on the radar! As for Rivals, they still haven't made him a profile page. No love there yet.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Despite the slow start with Duke, he's totally stoked to get a call from them. "Yeah, I'd love to hear from Duke," he said without batting an eye. "It's, like, the school I've been dreaming about."

With his crazy growth spurt and the hype around his newfound status, it won't be long before all the big-name schools start knocking on his door. And let's be real, he's totally got his heart set on the Blue Devils. The hoops scene is definitely keeping tabs on this kid's recruitment story. It's gonna be juicy!
