Deadly Tornado Strikes Eastern China, Leaves 5 Dead and 88 Hurt
On Friday, a super strong tornado totally wreaked havoc in Heze, which is in China's Shandong province. It sadly killed five people and hurt 88 others. There are videos all over social media showing how crazy it was, with houses and cars all smashed up. This is the second tornado to hit the area in just two days, so it's been really, really tough for everyone living there.
The first tornado happened just the day before, so it's like they've had a one-two punch from Mother Nature. It's showing everyone that China's been having a bunch of wild weather lately, and it's not just in Shandong. Back in April, another tornado hit the city of Guangzhou down south, and that one was pretty bad too, with five people dying and 33 getting hurt. It's definitely making people worry about how to deal with these big storms when they come around.
People who saw it said it was like something out of a horror movie, with the wind going nuts and everything flying around. Everyone's posting pictures and videos online of cars squished like toys and buildings that look like they've been hit by a giant's fist.
The government's working hard to help out, sending in rescue teams to look for anyone still stuck and setting up temporary homes for those who lost theirs. They're also fixing up the mess and trying to get the power back on. The big bosses in China are saying that we all need to be more ready for these kinds of storms and make sure everyone knows what to do when they happen.
Experts think that this is happening more because of the climate changing and cities getting bigger, making some places more at risk. It's a big wake-up call that we need to be ready for anything the weather throws at us.
The people in Heze and the other places hit are going to have a hard time getting back on their feet, but everyone's coming together to help out. It's also making the government think about how to make sure this doesn't happen as much in the future. They're talking about getting better at predicting tornadoes and making buildings and stuff that can stand up to them.
So, while it's been a really sad and tough time, hopefully some good can come out of it, like learning how to be better prepared for these crazy weather events.
