China and Indonesia Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Global Economic Shifts

Jakarta, May 25, 2025 — Chinese Premier Li Qiang's recent visit to Jakarta is a significant move towards China-Indonesia relations focused on building economic and strategic cooperation between Indonesia and China.

Economic Partnerships and Investment Proposals

During his three-day stay, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Premier Li Qiang talked about widening trade and investment cooperation. Both leaders emphasized their commitment to the patronage of "authentic multilateralism" and stronger bilateral ties. Importantly, the visit saw the signing of a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), which cemented investments of over USD 10 billion. The investments are set to consolidate collaboration between Chinese and Indonesian enterprises, particularly in infrastructure, digital economy, green economy, and high-tech industry.
