Spain Set to Roast with Temperatures Going Over 40°C as Heat Wave Cranks Up

Spain's about to get hit with some serious heat as a big ol' heat wave takes over the place and southern Europe too. The folks at AEMET, Spain's weather peeps, say that by Monday, the area around Cordoba might see temperatures go nuts and hit over 40°C (which is like 104°F for those playing the metric game).

But it's not just Spain getting toasted. The whole Mediterranean is basically a hot tub right now, with the sea being extra toasty. This means that a bunch of spots in Spain are already under a yellow "it's hot, be careful" warning, and some are even dealing with an orange "it's really, really hot, guys" warning. And it's not just Spain; southern France is starting to feel the heat too, with yellow warnings popping up like daisies.

So if you're in these hot zones, here's the deal: stay hydrated, don't hang out in the sun when it's at its angriest, and chill inside where it's cooler. Also, keep an eye on the oldies and the little ones, 'cause they're the ones who really feel the burn.

And get this, these heat waves might just be the new norm as the climate goes through its glow-up. So, the more we know about them and prep for them, the better we can handle the heat and keep everyone safe.
