Waitress Nearly Drowns After Being Pushed Into Lake by Sneaky Customers
A waitress at Lake of the Ozarks had a scary time when some jerks who didn't wanna pay their bill basically tossed her into the lake! Liahna Bertels, who's just 20 and a single mom, was totally shaken up after the whole mess. She had to swim all the way back to shore because they didn't want to cough up the cash for their fancy meal.
This all went down on a Friday at Fish and Company Restaurant in Camdenton, Missouri. Liahna had been serving a bunch of seven people who had a big ol' dinner at the place by the lake. But get this, they didn't pay and took off because one of them couldn't get a drink order in! So not cool.
When they tried to escape on their fancy boat, Liahna didn't just let them get away. She chased them down the dock, but they weren't having it. They actually grabbed her and pulled her into the water. Can you believe that? She's lucky she's a good swimmer because she had to make her way back to land all by herself, which took about ten whole minutes.
The police are on the case now, and one of the not-so-smart folks who did it is actually helping them out. The rest are still on the run, though. The local peeps are pretty ticked off and worried about stuff like this happening to other workers.
Liahna's okay, thankfully, but she's still trying to get over it all. The cops are still looking for the other bad guys who were with that one who's helping out. What a wild Friday night, right? Just goes to show you never know what might happen when you're just trying to do your job and some people decide to be complete jerks.
