All the Good Stuff on Julia Roberts' Brother Eric

So, you know Julia Roberts, right? Well, her big bro Eric is also a pretty big deal in the Hollywood scene. This guy's been in like 800 movies and shows or something crazy like that! He's got some serious acting chops, especially after nailing that Oscar-nominated role in Runaway Train back in 1985.

Born on April 18, 1956, in the chill town of Biloxi, Mississippi, Eric's the oldest of three kids. His folks, Betty Lou and Walter Grady Roberts, were all about the theater life and had a little theater company for kids. But then they split up, and Eric went to live with his dad in Atlanta, while his mom stayed in Smyrna, Georgia with his sisters, Julia and Lisa. Oh, and Betty had another kid, Nancy, with her second hubby, but sadly she's no longer with us.

Eric started his acting gig with a quick trip to London's RADA, which is fancy talk for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Then he hustled over to New York City to hit the big time. His first big break came in a soap opera called How to Survive a Marriage in '74, but he really got noticed in King of the Gypsies in '78. That's when he got his first taste of the Golden Globe love.

This dude's been everywhere on TV and in the movies. Think CSI, Suits, and Heroes for the small screen, and flicks like The Dark Knight, Inherent Vice, and The Expendables for the big screen. He's done it all!

But get this, Eric and Julia have only done one movie together, and that was way back in '89 called Blood Red. They're totally tight, though. Eric talked about his sis on some podcast in '24 and said, "I love her to death," but he keeps the family talk low-key, mostly because his daughter, also an actor named Emma, told him to zip it.

The man's a machine when it comes to work. He's got offers coming in like it's nobody's business. "I can work every day, all day," he said in some fancy magazine interview. That's passion, folks.

And it's not just about the acting for Eric. He's got a cool side hustle in music videos too. Remember that "Mr. Brightside" video by The Killers? Yeah, he's in that. Then he hits it big with Akon and Mariah Carey. Talk about a lucky charm!

On the home front, Eric's got a pretty cool story. He met his wife Eliza, who's an actress and casting director, on a plane. They were just friends at first, but Cupid had other plans, and they tied the knot in '92. Before that, he had a fling with someone else, and boom, little Emma Roberts came along in '91. She's an actor too, by the way.

Long story short, Eric Roberts has been killing it in Hollywood for ages, and he's not slowing down. He's got that acting bug bad, and it shows. He's definitely made his mark, and it's not just because of his famous sis. The guy's got skills!
